DesignaLeaf Cards

Hello, I went to Niki Zipp at Paperchain for another class - this time I went to learn how to use Gold Leaf or DesignaLeaf on cards.

DesignaLeaf is hand crafter color leaf, each design has is own unique colouring.  It was created for the creative artisans who desires a special gold leafed finish.  It is simple and easy to use.  You can embellish any surface with a touch of metal leaf.  Just brush or apply the size onto your artwork and apply the leaf, adding your own creative personality to your artwork.  The possibilities are only limited by your imagination.  It can be applied to all surfaces including, paper, polymer clay, scrapbooks, plaster and any surface that can receive a painted finish.

There are different combinations to use, gold, copper, silver various coppers and metals, red, green, purple, blue or a mixture of all .  I love the mixed colours

You will also need:
  • Sticky Embossing Powder
  • a small piece of rubber stamp cleaning pad
  • Small paint brush
  • Anti-static pad (to keep the leaf controlled)
  • Favourite stamp
Tip: Don't attempt this on a windy day - you might not have much gold leaf left....

Just for you - Scarlet Ice Flakes

On this card I used a stamp from Stampers Anonymous and Scarlet Ice Flakes.  On after thought I should've stamped the sentiment in red or burnished it with the leaf flakes as well, but oh well, we will do that with the next card.

The 2nd card was stamped with Keys - stamp is one of Niki's antique stamps that she bought many years ago - and is apparently no longer available - added gold and copper flakes to it.  The card still looks a bit unfinished and I will have to either add a sentiment or change the base card totally - will decide later.

A very exciting class - Niki owns a small stamping shop called Paperchain which she runs from home and gives classes on appointment.  This is one very talented lady.
